Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC): MDAC consists of key technologies providing universal data access. Data applications used over web or a local network (LAN) use these components. It is used to integrate both associative (SQL/Oracle) and non-associative data, and it contains Microsoft ActiveX Data Objects (ADO) OLE DB and ODBC components. In order to run applications with database access properly, it is highly important for hotfixes published for the relevant operating system of MDAC to be loaded.
